Week 3

One mermaid bandaid, several glass nicks and multiple re-cuts--- I finally got all 29 pieces of my design cut this evening. This isn't easy, but I'm loving it. Today I used my new pistol grip tool and began using the grinder. My piece is definitely getting closer to being okay and the grinder helps. I'm not sure if my pieces are cut accurately enough, and may have to recut. I may try to come in and clean up my shapes before next class. Take a look at my progress through my photos. Note that I changed the corner and center piece color choice from plum to sky blue and finally settled in on the clear to balance out the strong main colors . Stay tuned. This is a learning process and I'm not sure how to insert the photos. Bare with me.

  1. I really like the colors you've chosen! And don't worry, we'll show you how to add the photos. Good job so far!

  2. I'll help you with adding pictures. It's a little bit different on the iPad. I'm going to recut a couple of my pieces. This is definitly different from anything I've ever done. It's difficult getting used to but I'm loving it as well. I can't wait to see your finished product.

  3. How do you like the pistol-grip cutter compared to the other cutters? From what I can see, you're making cleaner cuts. As for accuracy, you'll have a little bit of wiggle room since we'll be foiling and soldering. I'll take a look with you tomorrow night and see what you may need to do. I can help you as well in putting your pictures up. Thank you Amy Lilly for helping out your classmate!! :-)

    2. I think the pistol grip handle allows me a little more control - thank goodness :)
